ALBANY, Apr 20, 2024 -- State Senator Peter Oberacker (R/C – Schenevus) expressed his concerns regarding the 2024-25 state budget, which was recently finalized. Senator Oberacker, in a statement, highlighted his reservations about the budget process and its implications for the state.

"People are fleeing New York in droves and this state budget, crafted behind closed doors by Democrats, will only add to the exodus. The late spending plan checks in at a record $237 billion and is riddled with unsustainable spending and misdirected policies," Senator Oberacker remarked.

Furthermore, Senator Oberacker emphasized his commitment to advocating for the interests of his constituents in Albany. He stated, "I will continue to push back against the status quo to ensure that the priorities of those I represent are heard in Albany. Affordability, public safety, and initiatives to stimulate economic growth need to be front and center."

Senator Oberacker's stance on the state budget was reflected in his voting pattern, as he opposed nine out of the ten separate bills that constituted the budget.

The 2024-25 state budget has sparked criticism and debate, with Senator Oberacker's comments shedding light on the concerns surrounding the budget's size and allocation of funds.
